3 MỤC ÐÍCH
 

Môn phái Vovinam (Việt võ đạo) hoạt động nhằm 3 mục đích:

Bảo tồn, chấn hưng và phát triển môn phái Vovinam do cố võ sư Nguyễn Lộc sáng tạo năm 1938. Vovinam nêu cao tinh thần truyền thống bất khuất của dân tộc, khai thác trọn vẹn hai phần Cương và Nhu của con người, và phối hợp mọi tinh hoa võ thuật đã có trên thế giới.

Sưu tầm, nghiên cứu và phát sinh các thế võ để tu bổ, xây dựng cho nền võ thuật Vovinam mỗi ngày một phong phú và tiến bộ.

Huấn luyện môn sinh trên ba phương diện Võ lực - Võ thuật - Tinh thần Võ đạo.

Về Võ đạo: Môn phái luyện tập cho môn sinh có một thân hình rắn rỏi, vững vàng; một sức lực mạnh mẽ, dẻo dai để có thể bền bỉ chịu đựng trước mọi khó khăn, cực nhọc, đẩy lui các bệnh tật, giữ cho thân thể luôn luôn tráng kiện và lành mạnh.

Về Võ thuật: Môn phái sẽ huấn luyện cho môn sinh một kỹ thuật tinh vi để tự vệ hữu hiệu và sẵn sàng bênh vực lẽ phải.

Về Tinh thần Võ đạo: Môn phái sẽ rèn luyện cho môn sinh một tâm hồn cao thượng, một ý chí bất khuất, một tính tình hào hiệp, biết khép mình trong kỷ luật tự giác, biết sống hợp quần trong tình đồng đạo, biết hy sinh trong nếp sống vị tha và trở thành những công dân gương mẫu, phục vụ cho bản thân, gia đình, tổ quốc và nhân loại.

 

5 TÔN CHỈ
 

Ðể thực hiện 3 mục đích nêu trên, Môn Phái Vovinam-Việt Võ Đạo hoạt động theo 5 tôn chỉ dưới đây:

Mọi hoạt động của môn phái Vovinam đều dựa trên một nền tảng vững chắc: Lấy CON NGƯỜI làm cứu cánh, lấy ÐẠO HẠNH làm phương châm, lấy KỸ THUẬT và Ý CHÍ QUẬT CƯỜNG làm phương tiện.

Môn phái Vovinam là một đại gia đình, trong đó môn đồ thương yêu kính trọng lẫn nhau. Sự kính trọng và lòng thương yêu ấy sẽ đan kết thành kỷ luật của môn phái, một rường mối vững chắc giúp các môn đồ đoàn kết chặt chẽ để nêu cao danh dự môn phái, phục vụ dân tộc và nhân loại.

Môn phái Vovinam tích cực góp phần vào công cuộc giáo dục thanh thiếu niên.

Hoạt động của môn phái không có tính chất chính trị và tôn giáo.

Môn phái Vovinam luôn luôn tôn trọng các võ phái khác.

 

10 ÐIỀU TÂM NIỆM CỦA VIỆT VÕ ÐẠO SINH

1.    Nguyện đạt tới cao độ của nghệ thuật để phục vụ dân tộc và nhân loại.

2.    Nguyện trung kiên phát huy môn phái, xây dựng thế hệ thanh niên dấn thân hiến ích.

3.    Ðồng tâm nhất chí, tôn kính người trên, thương mến đồng đạo.

4.    Tuyệt đối tôn trọng kỷ luật, nêu cao danh dự võ sĩ.

5.    Tôn trọng các võ phái khác, chỉ dụng võ để tự vệ và bênh vực lẽ phải.

6.    Chuyên cần học tập, rèn luyện tinh thần, trau dồi đạo hạnh.

7.    Sống trong sạch, giản dị, trung thực, và cao thượng.

8.    Kiện toàn ý chí đanh thép, nỗ lực tự thân cầu tiến.

9.    Sáng suốt nhận định, bền gan tranh đấu, tháo vát hành động.

10. Tự tín, tự thắng, khiêm cung, độ lượng, luôn luôn kiểm điểm để tiến bộ.

 

BẢN MÔN QUY

Mỗi khi gặp võ sư hay đồng môn đẳng cấp cao hơn, môn sinh phải nghiêm lễ theo thể thức của môn phái.

Tuyệt đối cấm môn sinh có những cử chỉ tỏ ra lố lăng, đùa nghịch, vô lễ trong khi học tập và sinh hoạt môn phái.

Tuyệt đối cấm môn sinh có những ngôn ngữ, cử chỉ, hành vi làm giảm uy danh Môn Phái và Dân Tộc.

Tuyệt đối cấm môn sinh tiết lộ những vấn đề mà môn phái không cho phổ biến ra ngoài.

Tuyệt đối cấm môn sinh lợi dụng danh nghĩa, đẳng cấp hay sự ủy nhiệm của môn phái để mưu đồ tư ý, tư lợi.

Tuyệt đối cấm môn sinh tùy tiện sử dụng màu đai, đẳng cấp, sắc áo, Phù Hiệu, Kỳ Hiệu sai lệch trong sinh hoạt môn phái.

Tuyệt đối cấm môn sinh dạy võ bừa bãi khi chưa đuợc sự chuẩn y của môn phái qua cấp lãnh đạo hữu quyền.

Tuyệt đối cấm môn sinh mang danh nghĩa môn phái thượng đài hoặc khiêu khích gây hấn với các môn phái khác.

Tuyệt đối cấm môn sinh làm vệ sĩ cho bất cứ ai không phải là thượng cấp trong môn phái.

Tuyệt đối cấm môn sinh không được phép làm tay sai cho ngoại nhân hoặc ác đảng, phản bội lại quyền lợi Dân Tộc và môn phái.

Bản MÔN QUY phản ảnh Mục Ðích, Tôn Chỉ, 10 Ðiều Tâm Niệm cùng Quan Ðiểm Hành Ðạo của Môn Phái nên mặc nhiên minh định KỶ CƯƠNG tuyệt đối mà mỗi môn sinh phải thấu triệt, ghi khắc và tuân hành nghiêm túc. Mọi vi phạm sẽ được nhắc nhở, khuyến cáo, hoặc giáng cấp trước khi thu hồi lại đai đẳng, loại khỏi môn phái.

PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLE OF THE VOVINAM MARTIAL SECT

 

THREE PURPOSE

The Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao sect operates for three purposes:

Preserving, revitalizing and developing the Vovinam sect created by the late master Nguyen Loc in 1938. Vovinam upholds the indomitable traditional spirit of the Vietnam nation, fully exploits the two parts of human Strength and Softness, and combines all the martial arts quintessence in the world.

Collect, research and create martial arts to improve and build Vovinam martial arts to become richer and more progressive every day.

Training martial arts students in three aspects: Martial Power - Martial Arts - Martial Spirit.

About Martial Power: The sect trains its students to have a strong and stable body; a strong and resilient strength to be able to endure all difficulties and hardships, repel diseases, and keep the body always strong and healthy.

About Martial Arts: The sect will train students in sophisticated techniques to effectively defend themselves and be ready to defend what is right.

About the Martial Spirit: The sect will train its disciples to have a noble soul, an indomitable will, a generous personality, to know how to close themselves in self-discipline, to know how to live in harmony with fellow believers, know how to sacrifice in an altruistic lifestyle and become exemplary citizens, serving themselves, their families, their country, and others.

 

FIVE PRINCIPLES

To accomplish the three purposes mentioned above, the Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao sect operates according to the five principles below:

• All activities of the Vovinam sect are based on a solid foundation: Taking PEOPLE as the ultimate goal, taking MORALITY as the motto, taking TECHNIQUE and STRONG WILL as the means.

• The Vovinam sect is a big family in which disciples love and respect each other. That respect and love will be create into the sect's discipline, a solid foundation that helps the disciples unite closely to uphold the sect's honor and serve the nation and humanity.

• Vovinam sect actively contributes to youth education.

• The sect's activities are not political or religious in nature.

• Vovinam sect always respects other martial sects.

 

TEN THINGS MIND OF VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS

1)    VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS: Vows to reach the pinnacle of martial arts to serve the nation and humanity.

2)  VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS: Vows to persevere in developing the sect and building a generation of Vivonam youth.

3)   VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS: Vows be of the same mind, respect your superiors, and love your fellow believers.

4)  VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS: Vows absolutely respect discipline and uphold the honor of martial artists.

5)   VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS: Respect other martial arts sects, only use martial arts to defend yourself and defend what is right.

6)  VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS: Study diligently, train your mind, and cultivate your morality.

7)  VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS: Live pure, simple, honest, and noble.

9)  VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS: Insightful judgment, tenacious struggle, resourceful action.

10)VOVINAM MARTIAL STUDENTS: Self-reputation, self-conquering, humble, generous, always reviewing to improve.

 

THE SECT’S REGULATIONS

·     Whenever meeting a master or fellow martial artist of a higher level, students must be respectful according to the sect's formalities.

·     Absolutely forbidden to martial arts students from making ridiculous, playfully, or disrespectful gestures while studying and participating in sect activities.

·     Absolutely forbidden to martial arts students from using language, gestures, or behavior that reduces the reputation of the Sect and the Nation.

·     Absolutely forbidden to martial arts students revealing issues that the sect does not allow to be made public.

·     Absolutely forbidden to martial arts students advantage of the name, class or mandate of the sect to plot personal ideas and personal interests.

·     Absolutely forbidden to martial arts students arbitrarily using incorrect belt colors, ranks, clothes, badges, and flags in sect activities.

·     Absolutely forbidden to martial arts students teaching martial arts indiscriminately without approval from the sect through the right leadership level.

·     Absolutely forbidden to martial arts students to use the name of the sect to fighting or provoke aggression against other sects.

·     Absolutely forbidden to martial arts students act as a bodyguard for anyone who is not a senior in the sect.

·     Absolutely forbidden to martial arts students to act as lackeys for foreigners or evil parties, betraying the interests of the Nation and the sect.

 

THE SECT’S REGULATIONS reflect the Purpose, Principles, 10 thoughts and Perspectives on the Practice of the Sect, so they implicitly define the absolute DISCIPLINE that each martial arts student must thoroughly understand, memorize and strictly follow. Any violation will be reminded, warned, or demoted before the dan belt is revoked and removed from the sect.
